Q : What is Endodontics?

A : Endodontics is a highly specialized branch of dentistry that focuses on diagnosing and treating the interior anatomy of the tooth. When that tissue is compromised, your dentist will refer you to an endodontist who has the skills, experience, and technology to best diagnose and treat your tooth. At Westford Endodontic Care, we work alongside your dentist as an extension of your dental healthcare team to ensure that you get to enjoy your natural teeth for as many years as possible!

Q : What conditions benefit from endodontic therapy?

A : Endodontic therapy is used to treat all conditions that involve the interior anatomy of the tooth. This includes tooth pain and sensitivity, dental orofacial pain, cracks and fractures, traumatic mouth injuries (teeth that have been dislodged or even knocked out completely), inflammation, and infection. At Westford Endodontic Care, we also specialize in endodontic revision therapy and internal bleaching.

Q : Is it really worth saving my tooth?

A : There’s nothing like the look, feel, and function of our natural teeth! While we’re lucky to live in a time with so many replacement options (implants, fixed bridges, partial dentures), saving the natural tooth should be your first choice whenever possible. Saving your tooth allows you to keep your natural smile while maintaining the structural integrity and function of your mouth’s unique physiology.

If you remove a tooth without replacing it at all, normal mouth function (such as chewing) will be affected, leading to greater stress and potential damage on the surrounding teeth. A missing tooth also allows for the adjacent and opposing teeth to shift over time, often leading to more serious problems down the line. The good news is that successful endodontic care can add decades of service to a tooth, allowing it to work and feel normal for years to come!

Q : Why am I nervous?

A : Because you’re human! We realize that you may be coming to meet us for the first time and that you may feel uncertain or nervous about the treatment process, and we completely understand.

Our entire team is trained to ensure that your experience is as comfortable and stress-free as possible, from making your appointment to the comfort of our waiting room to managing your account and the treatment itself. In fact, our beautiful new office was specifically designed with Dr. Ross’ fundamental dedication to patient-centered care as the number one objective.

We understand that many people worry about pain during treatment. By trade, endodontists are experts in pain care, and our goal with every treatment is to provide a completely pain-free procedure. With today’s techniques and specialized technologies, most patients actually report that they are comfortable during their procedures! You can also know that we’ll be right there with you every step of the way, and we will communicate with you through the entire process, ensuring that you are ok.

At the end of the day, the best part of our practice is Dr. Ross himself. Well-known in the dental community for his extraordinary diagnostic and treatment skills, patients know Dr. Ross for his kind, gentle manner and his total dedication to patient care. This culture of communication and caring is carried throughout the entire WECare team. Combine that with the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technologies in the industry, and we are able to offer our patients the most comfortable, effective, and successful care possible.

If you’re still feeling worried, remember that we’re part of your dental health care team! You can talk to your dentist about your concerns or you may contact us directly. It may also help you to read some of our testimonials and hear from other patients about their experiences with Dr. Ross and his team.

Q : What payment methods do you accept?

A : For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. We also accept the CareCredit® healthcare credit card. If you have dental insurance, we will gladly submit your claim on your behalf. While we can estimate your insurance company’s portion of our fee, we cannot guarantee your policy’s coverage, as the insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurance carrier. Learn more about billing and insurance on our Payment Information page.

Q : What if I need to cancel an appointment?

A : 24-hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else who needs care to see us. If you do not provide 24 hours advance notice, you will be charged a $250 fee due to unavoidable fixed costs. This amount must be paid prior to rescheduling your next appointment. You may view our full cancellation policy to learn more about this fee.

Q : I have a cold. Should I still come to my appointment?

A : In this case, sharing is not caring! If you are sick or contagious, please reschedule your appointment for another time. For the wellness of all of our patients, we must decline treatment to anyone who arrives to an appointment sick. Arriving to an appointment sick will be treated as a no-show. We ask that you please respect this rule for our patients who want to be well for their recovery.
